In 1951, Hungarian researcher Ferenc Király bred this type by crossing grape varieties Ezerjó and Bouvier, thus yielding a characteristic variety within the Badacsony line. Due to its perceptible acidity this variety is particularly suited for the production of late-harvest wines.
